Train Depot Relax in the roomy and private Train Depot Cabin located on The Antlers Inn property. Built in the 1880's by the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway, you can stay in an accommodation is unique part of Texas History and has been updated with comfortable, modern furnishings. We are located in Kingsland, Texas and have lake access to Lake LBJ for swimming, fishing and water sports. Additionally, we are close to restaurants, shopping, golf, state parks and a winery in town.The SpaceThe Train Depot sleeps 8 people comfortably. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table that seats 8 and a large living room.In the first bedroom, there is a king size bed. In the second bedroom, there are two queen size beds. There is a brand new queen sofa sleeper in the living room. All of the beds, bed linens and furniture in the living room is new and been recently updated. Bed linens are provided.The Train Depot also has a wrap-around deck with an accessible ramp. On the deck, there is an outdoor table and chairs to sit outside and enjoy the Texas Hill Country views and weather.Guest AccessYou can park directly in front of the Train Depot Cabin for easy access in and out. You can enjoy a stroll around our 8 acres of property or sit and relax in our shady, wooded areas.We're located at the junction of the Llano and Colorado Rivers, on Lake LBJ, and we have walk-way access to Lake LBJ. There is a bench to take in the view, and there is a boat pier for day docking up to 2 boats. You can also fish off the pier if you have a fishing license. We have water "toys," including non-motorized kayaks and life jackets. Everything is on a first come, first serve basis.Experience the fun of sleeping in a real train caboose in a picturesque setting! Unique and historic, the yellow caboose was built in 1976 and brought to The Antlers Inn property in 1996. A recorded Texas landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Antlers Inn, is a two-minute walk from the shores of Lake LBJ where you can enjoy water activities and a minute from downtown Kingsland where you can shop, golf or visit state parks and a winery.The spaceOur cabooses at The Antlers Inn are very popular with families. Quirky, historic, and charming all at the same time, the cabooses have been updated as an open floor plan hotel room.They have a queen size bed, two bunk beds that are 5 ft long each, a full bathroom with a stand-up shower, a kitchenette, and a small living area. They also have the original cupola (a small, windowed projection on the roof), where you can enjoy the sunset or sunrise. The cabooses are comfortable for two adults and two small children. There is an outside patio table where you can sit and enjoy the Texas Hill Country views and weather. The restaurant is located inside house that was in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie set.
